Beyond Arabic (Graduation Project)
- Present
- Designed a benchmarking framework to evaluate Large Language Models (LLMs) on long Modern Standard Arabic documents.
- Evaluated model performance across information retrieval, multi-hop reasoning, question answering, and conversational memory tasks.
- Built a data pipeline to collect documents from official government sources and structure them in a Supabase database.
- Developed a Python evaluation engine integrated with FastAPI to assess model performance on accuracy, hallucination rate, response latency, and position sensitivity.
Wildfire Detection System

- Built a deep learning system that classifies satellite images as wildfire or no wildfire, trained on more than 36,000 images with TensorFlow/Keras.
- Compared a baseline CNN with transfer learning models (ResNet50, EfficientNetB3, EfficientNetB0) and selected EfficientNetB0 for its balance of accuracy and inference speed.
- Led model evaluation and testing, reaching 96% accuracy and a 0.97 F1-score, and used Grad-CAM and confusion matrices to find that most errors occurred in urban and industrial areas.
- Deployed the model in a Flask web app that classifies uploaded images and shows Grad-CAM heatmaps.
